Hello and welcome to this special, guest edition of Lowdown.

It can’t quite believe it was more than seven years ago I first pulled on my wellies, to join my mum and her two hounds for our first ‘basset walk’.

A great mix of lovely people, stunning scenery and lots of happy hounds mean I still make sure to join in as often as possible.

In fact, we’ve come to enjoy the club so much the summer BBQ, fun day and Christmas lunch our now sacred dates in our yearly calendar.

I have really enjoyed editing Lowdown and hope you enjoy reading it. I must say a big thank you to Tony for the support and to all the contributors for the great photos and stories inside.
